Relief carving goes back thousands of years. These works lend themselves to
many applications. The various sizes and materials offer a such a diversity as
to please most anyone.  
Charlie Martel was born Louis-Charles Edouard Martel in
Manchester, New Hampshire. At a very early age he
demonstrated a proficiency in the arts and was encouraged to
pursue that endeavor to this day. As a youngster he
concentrated on oil painting and color.
It was only when he had entered college and met Shelley
Fausset, an exchange professor/sculptor from England did he
realize a new turn in his career.
